My story is I’ve been running for personal growth and recovery (Pastor Bernie Anderson) the last 8 years. It’s been an incredible journey that has involved numerous marathons and half marathons. Not to mention the ups and downs of training.

But a few years ago I gave up running Marathons! I decided I was “retired” and would only run Half Marathons. Truthfully though, I was discouraged about marathons because I was bothered by a nagging IT Band (common runner injury) that prevented me from completing a full marathon in a time I was happy with.

I’m grateful that I’ve been able to address the injury and feel confident about running beyond 13.1 miles (half marathon). But more importantly I’m deeply inspired by my friends and colleagues who are stepping up on behalf of vulnerable children.

So I’m back! And I’m running The Chicago Marathon on October 13 to raise $25,000 for Clean Water in celebration of my 25th Wedding Anniversary!

The needs are real, but we believe that we can end the clean water crisis in our lifetime.  …just $50 = clean water for 1 person.

Will you invest in the future and provide clean water for 1, 2, 3, or even more people in Africa? We can help change lives, together.
